Invermere Bakery

 I have tried this bakery several times and I never really love it.  It's not spectacular. It's just kind of "mhh". But this morning I tried their apple cider which is made locally and it was delicious. 

Their donuts aren't bad either. My son likes them. But he also likes Tim Hortons.

Back left of that picture is a pecan cinnamon bun. Couldn’t stop eating it. So good.

Blue Dog Cafe 

I have been to this cafe almost every year for over 10 years. I love it. But I keep getting the same thing because it's always just so good. 

Chicken Cranberry Sandwich

- good as usual (especially the bread) but the cranberry tasted like it had that gross fruit from Fruit Cake at Christmas. 

- Salad was fresh and great as usual with a good balsamic dressing

- Hot chocolate with almond milk was bland. This is normal for almond milk. You need really good chocolate for it and I've only ever found it at the High Level Diner in Edmonton. 

- Carrot cake was delicious! Younger brother and husband both thought it was too healthy last year, but I still love it this year.

Huckleberry French Toast 

- 4 pieces of french toast: they were good. The Huckleberry compte was a little overwhelming. Would have preferred just regular syrup

- sausage was great. Not your usual breakfast sausage. Should have asked them where it was made

Side order of Hashbrowns:

- They were square chunks of potato. They were good, but I always prefer shredded potato. 

My son got the mini pancakes. It was a stack of 5 with sausage. $5.75. Can't beat that. And it was delicious.

 Steak Sandwich

- steak overcooked. I asked for medium rare. I got medium well done. 

- garlic toast was good

- mushrooms: whatever

- great house salad: got kiwi dressing sounded interesting but it wasn't very flavourful. 

Chocolate Lava Cake:

Lava was good. 

Cake not so good. 

I didn't have it with ice cream, so it was hot.
